Start playing in three steps
The game runs on the English home page, with the same life controls on a phone or computer. Start with a short session if you are exploring; you can pause or change the playback speed later. Nothing requires you to complete a life in one sitting.
- Set the scene: choose a past, present, future or any-era world, an origin draw and an estimated playback pace.
- Read the birth registration: meet the simulated person, birthplace, family and starting conditions, then begin the life.
- Follow the years: make decisions, choose a focus and read the timeline. Use Pause, Auto, Music or the next-decision control as needed.
A five-minute life is a pace, not a timer
Estimated starting paces include 5, 15, 30, 60 and 90 minutes. These settings change the interval between years; actual time also depends on how long the character lives and how much you read. Six speed controls let you adjust that interval during play.
Auto answers pending decisions and passes optional written reflections. It does not undo a manual pause. If the age stops moving, check Resume and any open dialog before starting again. For a slower reading, leave Auto off and choose the answers yourself; for an overview, enable it and increase speed.
What your simulated life contains
A life begins with an origin drawn across 172 countries and territories. Birth-weighted selection asks where a baby is likely to be born; population-weighted selection uses a different distribution. Both modes start the character at age zero. A birthplace and a later residence can differ when the story records a move.
You follow education, work, relationships and changing circumstances. Health, happiness, knowledge and social connection describe the character’s current state. Jobs and simulated finances have their own conditions; a large income is not the same as cash or net worth. Population figures provide context, while life events and economic outcomes remain simplified game rules.
Return to a choice or share a beginning
When an important decision has a saved checkpoint, you can create a branch before that answer. The earlier history stays shared, the new record follows another choice and the original remains available. A random restart instead creates a new origin. Neither feature predicts what would have happened in a real person’s life.
To compare with a friend, use a same-start invitation. They begin with the same simulated origin and make their own decisions in their browser. The link can include ending numbers for comparison, but it is not your full save, a private journal or a live multiplayer room.
Know where your progress is kept
Local browser saving is the default. Returning to the same site in the same browser can restore the record, but clearing site data, ending private browsing or changing devices can make it unavailable. Export important lives to a JSON file and check that you can restore them before removing the original.
Optional encrypted transfer and a personal cloud pass can move a complete save when you choose to use them. A pass requires manual saving and has a retention period; it is not an ordinary account that silently synchronizes everything. The backup guide explains recovery and the difference between keeping an existing record and explicitly replacing it during import.
Leave with a story you want to keep
After the ending, the share menu defaults to a life data card. You can instead choose a recorded moment and make a more personal keepsake. Save the image or copy the invitation, then send it yourself through a messaging or social app. The website does not post to your account automatically.
The keepsake studio also offers an album, a local film and other ways to revisit the story. Images and videos cannot restore midway progress, so keep the JSON file separately. There is no single winning income or lifespan: a relationship, a difficult choice or an ordinary happy year can be the part worth remembering.
Questions before you play
Is this online life simulator free?
Current full-life play, branches, keepsake cards and JSON save exports are free. You do not need an account or an app installation to begin.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes, in a supported mobile browser. The game has mobile controls; downloading images or recording video can depend on browser capabilities and device resources.
Can I continue on another device?
Yes, by restoring a full JSON backup or using the optional encrypted transfer or personal pass. A shared starting link does not move your current progress.
Is this a prediction or personality test?
No. Country figures are approximate and the simulation simplifies events, finances and lifespans. Outcomes are entertainment and a prompt for reflection, not an assessment of your real future.
