China: birth odds and 20 country-data indicators

Read 20 World Bank WDI reference indicators for China, each with its year, unit and source. Game birthplace weights are separate, and averages do not determine an individual life.

How to read this page

On the China page, read urban population and agricultural employment together without confusing their denominators. One concerns residents and the other employed people. They describe different structures, not the probability that a particular character lives in a city or works in farming.

Education, income and health averages leave room for regional and household differences. GDP per person is not a wage, and life expectancy is not a character’s ending age. A saved study or work decision offers a more focused game comparison than treating one result as a national portrait.

Bring the reference back to a fictional life

These 20 measures are verifiable environmental references, not a checklist of events a character must experience. They are not all fed directly into the current game engine. One fictional life cannot represent a country, and averages do not determine a person’s lifespan, career or happiness.

The play link draws a random origin using your selected sampling method; it does not guarantee this country. Read different references, then try a random beginning. To revisit a particular decision, branch from a saved choice.
